1. Information We Collect

• On-Device Sensor Telemetry (SpinSense & Mobile Tools): Our mobile applications access onboard device sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, and rotation vectors) to compute real-time rotation speed (RPM), vibration frequency, and machinery diagnostic telemetry. All sensor processing occurs locally on your device. We do not transmit or store your live sensor telemetry on our servers.
• Billing & Payment Data (Stripe): When you purchase or subscribe to Pro features (e.g. SpinSense Pro), transactions are processed directly by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and encrypts payment card details according to their Privacy Policy. 8bits.ca receives only transaction IDs, subscription status, and your email address for billing receipts and entitlement verification. We never store complete credit card numbers.
• Website Usage Data & Analytics: We log page views, specific link interactions, device type, browser version, and IP addresses. This data is used for internal analytics to maintain performance and is retained for up to 90 days.
• Account Data: If you register an account, we store your username, email address, and a securely salted/hashed password.
• Email Content (Burner Mail): Emails delivered to temporary disposable burner addresses are stored temporarily and auto-deleted permanently after 30 minutes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate, maintain, and enhance our website, tools, and mobile apps.
• To authenticate registered users and verify active Pro entitlements.
• To send essential transactional, security, billing, and service-change notices.
• To send optional product news, releases, or newsletters only when you have separately consented to receive them.
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, security threats, and app crashes.
• To serve non-intrusive advertisements via Google AdSense / Google AdMob on free tiers.

Marketing consent is optional and is not a requirement for creating an account or using our applications. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time without affecting essential service or billing notices.

3. Advertising & Third-Party Services

We display advertisements via Google AdSense on our web properties and Google AdMob on free mobile application tiers. Google and its ad partners may use cookies or mobile advertising IDs (such as the Google Advertising ID) to deliver relevant ads based on non-identifiable user interests.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not set first-party tracking cookies across domains. Mobile app preferences, session records, and CSV diagnostic exports are stored in your device's private local app storage. Third-party web services (like Google AdSense) may set cookies in your browser, which you can control via your browser settings.

5. Data Sharing & Protection

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share information with critical service infrastructure providers (such as Stripe for encrypted payment processing and Google for cloud distribution/AdMob on free tiers). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect legal rights and safety.

6. Children's Privacy

Our website, tools, and applications are not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features, apps, or regulatory requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision date.
